The building was built in 1894 by Alonzo Ward. The facility houses the Roma, Tuscany Room and a women's boutique along with a film studio.  We also feature Condominiums on the upper floors.

The original 1894 Ward Hotel burned to the ground in 1926 and in 1928 Alonzo R. Ward rebuilt it. Some 76 years later; in 2004 Blackstone Developers LLC restored the facility as a part of the Blackstone's downtown restoration project. Ninety of the original hotel rooms were converted into fifteen luxury condominiums on floors 3-6. The original restaurant, coffee shop, lobby and commercial spaces were all restored as well. 

The Ward Plaza Downtown Event Center has many facets with something for everyone.  The Tuscany Room is available for gatherings of up to 60; such as rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings, holiday parties and retreats and private parties.  

The Crystal Ballroom is the only one of its kind in the area.  It is the perfect wedding venue and has hosted many receptions, many special occasion events including dances, as well as concerts.
